It is okay that the files are from 2012 or older! Recent bugfixes are only a git pull away and since we moved on to work on PSYC2 no big developments have happened on these PSYC1 codebases. The .md5 files aren't really useful unless one day we shalt have mirrors, so you can check if the file you just downloaded from mirror A has the same checksum as the md5 file says on mirror B. Still, this is just a gesture, no real safety. Better if you use the git update mechanisms to see if the commits match.
